Loss : In 100 Words

Once upon a happier time, she was intent on pursuing honorable ends by way of glorious means. Heedlessly, she plunged into the fray, gripping worthy values tightly until the knuckles of her fractured will blanched beneath the strain.

Eventually letting go under enormous pressure, she descended into darkness as the high-ground of moral certainty receded to lofty heights unseen. Besieged by doubt and ambiguity, she recognized nothing -- least of all, herself. She was undone, a shadow of what she had once been.

They had remade her, molding her into the graven image of what they needed her to become.
