Legendaire : In 100 Words

Eddies of swirling sand pirouetted from one dune to another, sucking heavy air in and spinning it upwards in a graceful display of sheer power. Through roiling gray clouds of dust, the sun peered weakly.

With a storm approaching, the caravan-master called an all-stop and gave a brusque order to make preparations. The animals were unhitched quickly and picketed semi-safely within the limited shelter of the circled wagons. The travellers huddled within, the canvasses snapping briskly against the onslaught of buffeting wind.

Sand funnels appeared out of the desert gloom, hovering with ominous intent over the rim of the valley.
