A Queen's View : In 100 Words

The well's mossy stones were not comfortable, but the girls were weary after the night's strolling watch. Leaning back, they stretched out their tired limbs, and waited for sunrise.

Its first rays created a reflective riot, and Meri caught her breath. "Oh...my," she gasped, eyes wide.

Krena's glance was quick and shy, her smile pensive. "Makes the long night bearable, doesn't it?"

Meri snorted. "Bearable? You've a morning view fit for a queen, and you don't even have to wear a crown to get it!" A grin broke through her false outrage, and they both laughed, remembering her previous good-natured grumbling.
